Overview:The Mt. Laurel and Willingboro locations are only outpatient units, whereas the Special Test Unit (STU), located on the sixth floor in the main hospital is an outpatient and inpatient unit. All are run by the hospital largely to serve diagnostic and therapeutic needs of the Gastroenterology Division.
The most common gastroenterology procedures are upper endoscopy and colonoscopy. In the pulmonary suite (STU only), endoscopy of the airway procedures is performed, and are commonly called bronchoscopy.
Short Description:The Flow Manager’s primary responsibility will be to facilitate flow through the unit. He/she will delegate care to the care teams and assignments, ensuring that workload is balanced and delegates tasks appropriately, employing resources as needed to assure quality and efficient care.
- Ensures staff coverage.
- Ensures the delivery of patient care through the coordination of customer services and the leadership and management of the Department at the direction of the Clinical
- Director/Director of Operations.
- This position assists the Director of Operatons in coordinating interdepartmental and ancillary activities to ensure quality, cost-effective patient care.
- This position will support the department in Patient and Staff Engagement initiatives including but not limited to employee rounding, patient rounding with coaching staff, feedback and holding staff accountable to expected behaviors.
- Assists the Director of Operations in leading the patient care team to meet the needs of the customers and to achieve departmental objectives.
- Assumes responsibility and accountability for the direction and implementation of patient care services within the unit under the direction of the Director of Operations.
- Accountable for daily infection prevention practices (a designee will be appointed in the event the flow manager is not on-site).
- Minimum of 1-2 years of clinical nursing experience in a procedure department or medical-surgical unit, including at least 1 year of demonstrated leadership experience; or
- 2+ years of overall nursing experience
- Graduate from an NLN accredited school of nursing
- BSN required
- NJ-RN: Current New Jersey license as a Registered Nurse
- BLS certification
- ACLS
Excellent communication, computer and interpersonal skills required.
