Patient Financial Coordinator - Aspen Dental

We are looking to add a Patient Financial Coordinator to our team!
DENTAL EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

Responsible for preparing, presenting, and scheduling patients for treatment plans based on dentist recommendations. Duties include setting up financial arrangements, collecting payments from patients and insurance, and ensuring office compliance with collection policies. Additionally, manage the hygiene schedule to support patient health, satisfaction, and practice profitability.

Essential Responsibilities:

Treatment Coordinator:

• Develop and present financial arrangements that meet patient and practice needs.
• Ensure compliance with the Fair Credit Standards Act.
• Explain treatment plans to patients and assist with insurance claims and payments.
• Maintain professionalism, punctuality, and multitask effectively in a team setting.
• Occasionally travel for continuing education or seminars as needed.
• Provide front desk support, including greeting patients, answering calls, and handling payments.
• Schedule patient and specialist appointments, manage records, and submit insurance claims.
• Cross-train to perform Financial Coordinator, Hygiene Coordinator, and Receptionist roles.

Hygiene Coordinator Supervisor:

• Manage and optimize the hygiene schedule to meet production goals.
• Follow up on overdue appointments and coordinate with family members needing hygiene care.
• Confirm appointments and maintain recall systems.
• Assist hygienists as needed and ensure end-of-day reporting and deposit tasks are completed.
• Oversee hygiene treatment scheduling and follow office protocols.

Success Factors:

• Maintain confidentiality per HIPAA standards and adhere to OSHA guidelines.
• Exhibit professionalism when handling unpleasant smells or situations.
• Demonstrate attention to detail, active listening, effective communication, and adaptability.
• Display forward-thinking skills to anticipate doctor and patient needs.

Experience and Education:

• Bachelor’s Degree preferred; equivalent experience may substitute.
• Accounting experience in the medical field is advantageous.
