The Patient Concierge (Caregiver/CNA) is a vital member of the in-facility patient services team, responsible for providing exceptional customer service, patient care assistance, and ensuring a welcoming and supportive environment for all patients. This role combines concierge duties with elements of patient care assistance, creating a seamless and positive experience for individuals navigating the medical facility.
Position is Mon-Fri from 8am-5pm in the Summerville area.
Responsibilities
- Warmly greet and welcome all patients and visitors upon arrival.
- Provide accurate and clear directions to offices, departments, and other areas within the building.
- Assist patients with wayfinding, including escorting them to their appointments as needed.
- Offer assistance with mobility, including wheelchair assistance and guiding patients with ambulatory challenges.
- Monitor lobby and patient waiting areas and address any immediate concerns.
- Provide basic emotional support to anxious or distressed patients.
- Maintain a clean and organized lobby and reception area.
- Help patients with ambulatory challenges evacuate and navigate stairs with evac-chair during emergencies.
- Assist patients with personal belongings.
- Provide information about facility amenities, such as restrooms and waiting areas.
- Participate in team meetings and staff training
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED
- Certified CPR
- Basic experience with medical lift systems such as Hoyer, Stand-Assist, Evac-Chairs, etc, with the ability to learn and operate new systems quickly.
- Minimum one (1) year of documented health care experience is required
- Prior experience in customer service or hospitality preferred.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong customer service orientation with a focus on empathy and compassion.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Ability to remain calm and professional in stressful situations.
- Self-directing with the ability to work with little direct supervision
- Empathy for the needs of patients and guests
- Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English and communicate effectively
- Treats clients, staff and the public with courtesy, respect and presents a positive public image
- Ensures confidentiality and security of the client's medical information
- Ability to lift and assist patients with moderate weight.
- Must be able to stand walk, squat, bend, kneel, reach, twist, push, and pull. Varied assistance is required depending on the mobility of the client. Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds
