Job Description:
Under the general direction of the department manager, RN's, and radiologists, the Patient Care Technician /Administrative Associate (PCT/AA) assists the Vein Clinic and Cardiovascular (CV) Suite team to prepare a safe and clean environment for optimal patient care and day to day procedural flow. The Vein Clinic/CV Suite PCT/AA must demonstrate the ability and willingness to participate in a Patient Care Team as a self-motivated, multi-task worker responsible for the quality of own work and remain flexible in response to change.
Primary Responsibilities:
· Assist with day-to-day patient and procedural flow in Vein Clinic
· Assist with the movement of patients, equipment, and lab specimens
· Preparation and breakdown of equipment for Vein Clinic procedures
· Assist with procedures in Vein Clinic under the direct supervision of the vein clinic RN and/or vein clinic physician
· Preparation, breakdown, and restocking supplies of the procedure room
· Obtain and document vital signs
· Variety of computer, clerical, and supply functions necessary
· Handle and control written and verbal communications between the clinic, healthcare personnel and physicians, ancillary services, and patients
· Assist with organization of completed documents for the patient medical record
· Other duties as assigned
Education/Experience:
· High School graduate or equivalent required
· Strong organizational and interpersonal skills
· Medical terminology
· Basic computer skills (preferred)
Certification/License:
Basic Life Support (BLS) required through the American Heart Association
CNA or MA Certification preferred but not required
