About the Job
As the Patient Care Coordinator, you will be providing customer service over the phone and in person, acting as the director of first impressions. This position requires a self-starter who finds value working in a fast-paced and dynamic environment while providing support and solutions to patients.
Responsibilities:
- Greets visitors, patients, and families in a friendly professional manner and directs them appropriately
- Maintains an efficient patient flow through the registration process and provides excellent customer service to patients/families
- Promptly answers the telephone, directs all calls appropriately, takes an accurate message and delivers to the appropriate individual/demonstrates appropriate etiquette
- Posts all self-pay charges, collects payments, and provides patient with receipt
- Reconciles billing slips to daily schedule
- Updates patient information including demographics, insurance, HIPAA forms and financial waivers
- Schedules appointments accurately according to department guidelines; using waitlist when applicable
- Effectively communicates problems, concerns, or issues to the Office Supervisor / Manager appropriately and promptly
- Performs various clerical duties such as faxing, photocopying, scanning, filing and mailings
- Demonstrates flexibility with various work schedules, covers for other staff when asked including other office locations
- Demonstrates the ability to adequately follow downtime procedures
- Other job duties as required
- High School Diploma required, A.S. Degree in healthcare/related field preferred
- Comprehensive knowledge of electronic medics
- Adeptness in HealthCare Industry
- Clerical Duties experience
- Expertise in Answering Inbound Calls
- Deep understanding of data entry
- Be able to prioritize workload and perform in a fast-paced and challenging environment
- Excellent phone etiquette and ability to establish rapport with diverse clientele
- 1 year of experience as a Medical Receptionist
- General grasp of dental & medical terminology
- Prior experience with multi-line phone systems preferred
- Ability to work on a rotating Saturday schedule
