This 400,000 –square foot, multi-specialty ambulatory center encompasses a Comprehensive Cancer and Women’s Health Center, 12 ambulatory surgery operating rooms and Multispecialty physician practices. Our new state-of-the-art building encompasses three 600 ton chillers, five individual air handling units and Schneider control systems.

Pathology Assistant – Center for Community Health – Day Shift

As the Pathology Assistant, you’ll contribute to the quality lab services by assisting Pathologists with various processes in the preparation of surgical specimens for Pathologist review.  You’ll perform all or a portion of autopsies as directed and shares in the various responsibilities required to maintain a morgue. You’ll have an opportunity to showcase your skills under the direction of the Pathologist by assisting with various procedures such as pro-section, including external examination, site organ inspection, dissection and dictation of data. Additional tasks you’ll have an opportunity to work on include grossing, performing specialized procedures such as frozen sections, including preparing tissues for frozen sections (cutting & staining), utilizing histologic procedures. You’ll also select and preserve tissue for special studies to include immunopathology, electron microscopy.

This is a full time day shift position located at the NewYork-Presbyterian/Brooklyn Methodist Hospital Center for Community Health,

Preferred Criteria:

• Bachelor’s Degree
• One year in hospital setting

Required Criteria:

• Associates Degree in any science
• NYS Pathologist Assistant license
• Good verbal and written communication skills in order to transmit patient data/reports clearly and concisely
• Basic computer skills
• Standing, walking, sitting, reaching, talking, hearing

$133,500-$157,000/Annual
