Job Summary
A pathologist interprets and reports results of surgical biopsy specimens and provides necessary follow-up consultation.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for gross and/or microscopic examination of surgical pathology specimens and preparation of biopsy reports in a timely manner.
• Meet caseload and turnaround expectations.
• Responsible for providing telephone consultations to clients.
• Consult with and assist other pathologists on difficult cases as needed to promote collegiality.
• Interact with, advise, and assist laboratory personnel in proper specimen processing techniques and function as the pathologist on duty.
• Promote growth by actively participating in pathologist meetings and developing and maintaining professional contact with clients.
• Participate in quality control programs.
• Maintain proficiency and develop diagnostic skills through regular continuing education.
• Other duties as assigned or required.

Minimum Requirements

• MD, DO or equivalent.
• Breast pathology is a plus!
• Ability to type and use dictation equipment.
