Description/Comment: Provide professional anatomic pathology diagnostic services including fine needle aspiration and interpretation of tissue biopsies resections, frozen sections, cytologic preparations, and autopsy prosection. Provide educational services, conferences, and instruction where required. Comply with continuing medical education requirements for licensure and privilege status. Provide clinical lab consultation services to physicians and lab technologists as needed. Provide administrative and medical directorship support to lab as needed

Offer of Employment Process
When making any offer of employment to a successful candidate, Mindlance staff is responsible to the hiring party to inform the candidate of the client's intent to extend a contingent offer of employment. Upon the successful completion of the background check and drug screen, the submission of all Mindlance paperwork along with any client specific documents the associate will be cleared for their assignment. Once the start instructions are received, which is typically the Friday prior to the candidate's start date the associate will receive starting instructions from the account management team.
JOB QUALIFICATIONS:
A. EDUCATION:
- Required: MD or DO degree plus approved pathology residency.
- Desired: Additional sub-specialty training.
B. EXPERIENCE:
- Required: Residency and if applicable fellowship.
- Desired: Five years post-residency experience
C. LICENSES, CERTIFICATIONS, AND OR REGISTRATIONS
- Must hold valid unrestricted license to practice medicine.
- Must be board certified in anatomic and clinical pathology.
- Must hold active privileges in facility where any inpatient work is interpreted.
D. EQUIPMENT AND TOOLS:
- Microscope
- Appropriate lab equipment (grossing, frozen sections).
E. SPECIALIZED KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS: N/A
F. WORKING CONDITIONS:
- Office environment, some exposure to chemicals and pathogens.
PHYSICAL AND COGNITIVE REQUIREMENTS:
- Ability to spend enduring hours with keen concentration interpreting tissues and cellular preparations through a microscope.
- Ability to visually, audibly, and physically perform all functions; with or without reasonable accommodation.
KEY PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Provide professional anatomic pathology diagnostic services including interpretation of tissue biopsies resections, frozen sections, cytologic preparations, and autopsy prosection.
- Provide professional oversight and direction of clinical pathology services including quality assurance functions, medical directorship where indicated (per CLIA), and technical direction as required.
- Provide educational services, conferences, and instruction where required.
- Comply with continuing medical education requirements for licensure and privilege status.
