Responsibilities:
- Draft, review, and negotiate a wide range of patent applications to protect the company’s intellectual property rights.
- Conduct thorough patentability and freedom to operate analyses.
- Provide legal advice and guidance on all matters related to patent law, including patent prosecution, licensing, and litigation.
- Collaborate with internal teams to identify and evaluate potential intellectual property issues and risks.
- Monitor and manage the company's patent portfolio to ensure it aligns with the company's strategic objectives.
- Stay up-to-date with the latest developments in patent law and adapt strategies accordingly.
- Assist in the development and implementation of corporate policies and procedures related to intellectual property.
- Provide training to company personnel on intellectual property matters.
- Coordinate with external legal counsel as needed.
Qualifications:
- Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
- Must be a registered patent attorney with the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO).
- Minimum of 1-4 years of experience in patent prosecution, trademark, legal writing, and patent law.
- Strong knowledge of U.S. and international patent law and procedures.
- Exceptional legal writing and communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- High level of professionalism and ethical standards.
- Proficient in using patent databases and other legal research tools.
- Experience in the technology or pharmaceutical industries would be a plus.
