ThePastry Cookreports to the Kitchen Manager and is responsible for producing all Milk Bar’s baked good.
We love our jobs and are looking for like-minded, hard-working individuals that are up for any job, big or small, be it mixing 180 qts of cookie dough or gallons upon gallons of cereal milk. For this position you will most definitely be arm-deep in cookie dough and cake batter!
Responsibilities:
- Producing all of Milk Bar’s baked goods by closely following all recipes with the utmost care and accuracy using the tape method as it relates to:
- Scaling
- Mixing
- Assembling
- Baking
- Portioning
- Knowledge and comfort of the operation of all kitchen equipment
- Following and completing daily prep list and recording all mise en place dates and waste
- Keeping your station clean and up to HD code/standard
- Participating in opening and closing cleaning duties
- Completing daily inventory for the station worked for the day
- Following all rules of FIFO (first in first out) and organization
- At least 1 year of experience in a kitchen environment preferred
- Ability to prioritize work and meet deadlines
- Excellent organizational skills with strong ability to multitask
- Well organized with attention to detail and ability to carry out tasks independently
- Ability to work in a commissary kitchen with moderate level of noise
- Ability to lift up to 25 lbs. frequently and 50/75 lbs. occasionally
- Prolonged standing and walking is required
