Addison Reserve Country Club is seeking talented full-time Pastry Cook to join our CulinaryTeam.
Position Summary:
Prepares, bakes, cooks and serves pastries in our food service setting under the instructions of Pastry Chef and Executive Chef.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
• Prepare and cook food according to recipes, quality and presentation standards, and food prep checklists
• Prepare desserts, pastries, cakes, and other baked goods for our guests, members, and banquet functions
• Prepare ingredients for cooking, including portioning, chopping, and storing food before use
• Safely and appropriately use baking and measuring tools/equipment/appliances to prepare baked foods
• Follow and ensure compliance with food safety handling policies and procedures.
• Check and ensure correct temperatures of kitchen appliances and food, and report issues to Management
• Set up work station to ensure freshness and quality.
• Assist pastry team members to complete tasks on time.
• Break down work station at end of service/day.
• Ensure pastry kitchen is clean before leaving.
• Communicate with members, coworkers, management, staff and others in a professional manner.
• Conform with and abide by all regulations, policies, work procedures and instructions.
• Follow a daily prep list.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:
• Ability to produce pastries and work in a kitchen environment.
• Must be able to multi-task and think quickly.
• Ability to communicate well orally and in writing.
• Ability to work in high volume production atmosphere
• Must be able to lift 30 pounds.
• Ability to interact professionally and maintain effective working relationships with others.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with many interruptions.
• Ability to be flexible and juggle many assignments or projects at the same time.
• Interacting comfortably with all levels of staff in the organization.
• Working efficiently in a stressful environment.
• Flexible schedule to work days, nights, weekends and holidays
• Performs a variety of tasks and a wide degree of creativity and passion for learning is expected
Experience Required:
• 1-2 years’ experience in the country club or hospitality industry
