About the Job
The Parts & Inventory Specialist is responsible for maintaining accurate computerized MRO inventory levels, source venders, issuing purchase orders, and assuring timely delivery of parts. Additional responsibilities include monitoring supplier performance and providing reports on supplier effectiveness; assuring timely order, receipt and dispatch of maintenance, repair and operations indirect supplies; maintaining a computerized maintenance (CMMS) spare parts procurement, receiving and inventory system to provide all machine spare parts, facilities materials, indirect manufacturing supplies and janitorial supplies for all company locations in accordance with their needs.
Essential Accountabilities
- Prepare timely procurement requests for maintenance, repair, and operation items, tooling materials and indirect manufacturing supplies. Generate requisitions and purchase orders to keep the inventory of parts and materials as required by factory operations.
- Verify receipt of all MRO supplies upon their arrival.
- Ensure proper inventory levels and accuracy are maintained on all parts and materials.
- Maintain MRO materials and supplies in the computerized maintenance management system (CMMS).
- Analyze MRO parts usage and make recommendations to Purchasing on blanket ordering and pricing strategies.
- Coordinate the disbursement of all parts and materials to the various storage areas.
- Monitor the charging of materials and parts to proper accounts.
- Monitor supplier performance and provides reports on supplier effectiveness.
- Implements projects to reduce costs and limit inventories.
- Complies with all applicable safety regulations and keeps work area neat and orderly.
- Coordinate the shipment and repair of repairable spare parts.
- Complete inventory audits, monthly reports, and other required reporting information.
Minimum Qualifications
High school education and 4 years' experience working in a manufacturing environment, preferably in inventory control or purchasing or equivalent.
OR
Associate degree in business related curriculum and 1 year experience working in a manufacturing related position.

Very Heavy Work (lift over 50lbs): occasional 3-4 times/week - parts and assemblies Other Physical Requirements: Must be able to move freely throughout the plants, facilities, and grounds.
