SCC is seeking several part-time Student Assistants (Lab Assistants) in the Information Technology Department.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned:
- Oversee the open lab available to IT students during specified hours.
- Maintain security of all equipment in the room to prevent theft or damage.
- Check students in and out of the lab.
- Assist students working on labs to the extent that you are able.
Preference will be given to students currently enrolled in IT classes and to those students who are more advanced in the program. A basic understanding of how the equipment (routers and switches) is configured is important, so being enrolled in or having completed IT-151: CCNA-Intro to Networking is important.
Possible shifts include Fridays 1:00-5:00 p.m. or 5:00-9:00 p.m. and Saturdays 9:00-1:00 p.m. or 1:00-5:00 p.m. In addition, there are occasional special projects that come up, but these times are flexible.
You will often have time to work on your own labs which means you would be getting paid for working on your homework!
You must be enrolled in at least one class at the college this semester.
