We are seeking a dynamic, passionate, and eager-to-learn Medical Assistant to join our vibrant healthcare clinic at Medi-Weightloss in Elk Grove Village, IL and Algonquin, IL. If you're passionate about health and wellness and have a talent for sales and customer service, we'd love to meet you!
The Medical Assistant works under the direct supervision of the clinic provider according to the medical protocol set forth by Medi-Weightloss Clinics®. Under general direction, provides patient care; obtains patient’s vitals; administers IM injections; conducts urinalysis, EKG, body composition, and phlebotomy; documents patients’ progress; and assists with patient care management. The environment is fast-paced, and the position is multifaceted.
Essential Job Functions
- Conducts urinalysis, EKG, phlebotomy, and body composition
- Obtains patient’s vitals
- Administers IM injections
- Prepares laboratory order forms
- Obtains patient laboratory results
- Assists physician or mid-level practitioner with patient referrals to other healthcare professionals
Non-essential Job Functions
- Documents patient progress notes in the patient chart and/or EMR
- Assists physician/practitioner with medication inventory procedures
- Conducts consultations as delegated by supervising physician with patients regarding the Medi-Weightloss Clinics® program
- Performs other clinical duties as required
- Conducts follow up calls to patients to discuss the patient’s progress and address any concerns
- Assists with all administrative duties including, but not limited to, answering telephones, scheduling patients, and filing medical records
- Responsible for daily inventory levels of all clinical supplies
- Trains additional staff on daily procedures when requested by the office manager and/or physician
- Participates in clinic marketing efforts and provides ongoing support to promote clinic profitability and success
