Part-Time Maintenance Worker

The City of Falls Church, VA is recruiting for a part-time weekend Maintenance Worker in the Recreation and Parks Department. This is physical work, including setting up and breaking down a weekly Farmers Market, setting up and breaking down of daily classes and events, maintaining the community center to include general daily custodial duties; perform scheduled routine maintenance to include carpet cleaning, floor waxing, etc. This position will also assist Park crews during snow removal and special events.
Special Requirements:
• Experience in maintenance work preferred, especially in the areas outlined above.
• Satisfactory pre-employment physical, drug screen, and background check.
• Good driving record.
• Must report to work in and wear steel-toed safety shoes of an acceptable standard at all times on the job, effective first scheduled workday.
• Must be available to work weekends and holidays as well as respond to emergency situations.
Hours: Part-time - weekends – about 13 hours per week; Saturdays 6am-2:30pm, Sundays – flexible 5-hour shift staring any time before 11am. Additional weekend and holiday hours as needed for programs and special events.
Salary: $20 per hour. This is a part-time position with no fringe benefits.
