About the Job
The Baltimore VA Medical Center (VAMC) is seeking a highly qualified Gastroenterologist specializing in Inflammatory Bowel Disease (IBD) for a part-time position. This role is for a 2/8ths appointment, meaning the candidate will work approximately 10 hours per week (equivalent to 4-5 days per month). This flexible schedule allows physicians to balance clinical practice with academic, private, or other professional commitments while making a meaningful impact on the lives of our nations Veterans.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide expert consultation and care to Veterans with Inflammatory Bowel Disease and other gastrointestinal conditions.
Collaborate with an interdisciplinary team of healthcare professionals to develop personalized treatment plans.
Support and participate in clinical education by mentoring fellows, residents, and medical students.
Contribute to clinical research and quality improvement initiatives related to gastroenterology and IBD.
Maintain timely and accurate documentation of patient encounters in the electronic medical record.
Qualifications:
Board certification or eligibility in Gastroenterology.
Advanced training in managing patients with IBD.
Unrestricted medical license to practice in the United States.
