Part-Time Garden Cafe Concierge - McKinney (Urgently Hiring) at Flori Kulture Gardens

We are a vibrant community garden center and caf dedicated to bringing people closer to nature through lush plants, quality gardening products, and a cozy cafe experience. Our mission is to provide a welcoming space where customers can learn, grow, and relax in a green and inviting environment.

We are seeking an enthusiastic and motivated part-time Garden Concierge to join our Grow Team and assist with daily operations at our garden center and cafe. This is a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in retail, customer service, and the horticulture industry while working in a dynamic and community-focused setting.

In the Demonstration Garden (during the growing season):

• Provide friendly and knowledgeable customer service, including answering questions and making recommendations about plant varieties, cultivation and care and facilitate customer check-out.
  
• Assist with the care and maintenance of landscape plants e.g. watering, pruning, and re-potting.
  
• Supervise with seasonal vendors and ensure quality performance by trade staff.
  

In the Garden Cafe:

• Espresso and tea preparation and ready-to-eat pastry service and customer check-out.
  
• Interact with customers, ensuring they feel welcome and attended to.
  
• Organize/restock cafe inventory, refill cafe items and maintain cleanliness and order in the cafe seating area.
  

General Duties:

• Participate in seasonal events or workshops hosted by the garden center.
  
• Assist with marketing efforts, including social media posts, promotions, or event setup.
  
• Handle other tasks as assigned to support the team.
  

• Passion for gardening, plants, and environmental sustainability is highly desirable, and the ability to multitask and adapt to a variety of tasks.
  
• Physical ability to lift light to moderate weights (e.g., plant pots or bags of soil) and work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
  
• Valid food handler's certificate compliant with local requirements.
  
• Prior retail, customer service, or cafe experience is a plus but not required.
  
• Must have open availability to work early mornings during the week and staff occasional garden events on some Saturdays.
  
• Must have reliable transportation to and from work.
