Position Summary
We are seeking an enthusiastic and motivated part-time Garden Concierge to join our Grow Team and assist with daily operations at our garden center and cafe. This is a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in retail, customer service, and the horticulture industry while working in a dynamic and community-focused setting.
Key Responsibilities
In the Demonstration Garden (during the growing season):
- Provide friendly and knowledgeable customer service, including answering questions and making recommendations about plant varieties, cultivation and care and facilitate customer check-out.
- Assist with the care and maintenance of landscape plants e.g. watering, pruning, and re-potting.
- Supervise with seasonal vendors and ensure quality performance by trade staff.
In the Garden Cafe:
- Espresso and tea preparation and ready-to-eat pastry service and customer check-out.
- Interact with customers, ensuring they feel welcome and attended to.
- Organize/restock cafe inventory, refill cafe items and maintain cleanliness and order in the cafe seating area.
General Duties:
- Participate in seasonal events or workshops hosted by the garden center.
- Assist with marketing efforts, including social media posts, promotions, or event setup.
- Handle other tasks as assigned to support the team.
Qualifications
- Passion for gardening, plants, and environmental sustainability is highly desirable, and the ability to multitask and adapt to a variety of tasks.
- Physical ability to lift light to moderate weights (e.g., plant pots or bags of soil) and work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
- Valid food handler's certificate compliant with local requirements.
- Prior retail, customer service, or cafe experience is a plus but not required.
- Must have open availability to work early mornings during the week and staff occasional garden events on some Saturdays.
- Must have reliable transportation to and from work.

- Part-time; Monday - Saturday - 7:30am - 1:30pm
