Job Description
Job Summary: The Autonomy and Navigation Technology (ANT) Center , located at the Air Force Institute of Technology (AFIT) at Wright-Patterson AFB, is looking for a motivated and talented individual to serve as a Research Engineer. The successful candidate will have graduated from a major university or college with Master’s or PhD in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering with a 3.0 GPA or higher. The candidate must be a self-sufficient and an independent professional.
Please note that we are unable to provide temporary relocation assistance or a housing stipend for our internship program at this time.
Must be U.S. Citizen, with active Secret clearance or ability to obtain one
Essential Job Responsibilities
The Research Engineer will be a key member of the research staff supporting ANT Center faculty and graduate students to support and drive the software and tooling of the Center’s cutting-edge research and development projects. Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Design, develop, and test computer software in support of research requirements
- Work with faculty, students and research engineers to develop new algorithms and tooling that support the various autonomy and advanced navigation research projects
- Reviews and tests software components for adherence to the design requirements and documents test results
Minimum Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent + Must be working towards a Bachelor's degree with between 20% and 40% of the required credits completed OR g raduated from a major university or college with Master’s or PhD in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering with a 3.0 GPA or higher.
- Ability to work in-person AND remote
- Must be U.S. Citizen with active Secret clearance or ability to obtain one
