Part Time Afternoon Receptionist - Beacon Hill

About the Job
Our client, a law firm located in Boston, is seeking a part-time receptionist. This is a temporary opportunity and can compensate up to $20/hr. depending on experience!
Responsibilities:
- Receives and relays information from phone callers and visitors to attorneys and staff, operating a multi-line telephone system.
- Directs phone calls to the appropriate personnel or voicemail and greets clients while ensuring proper clearance and routing.
- Informs the Accounting Department of Fiduciary pouch arrivals and logs staff and attorney arrival/departure times, including reasons for lateness.
- Schedules and maintains records for conference room usage, addressing any scheduling conflicts with staff and attorneys.
- Communicates employee sick calls to human resources and keeps the "out of office" calendar updated.
- Maintains the cleanliness of the reception area and conference rooms, and performs additional duties as assigned by the Executive Director.
Qualifications:
- Ability to read and write English at a level normally acquired through the completion of high school to process informational messages.
- Approximately two to four weeks on the job training necessary to learn department locations and to gain an understanding of the law office and departmental policies and procedures and learn to operate telephone system.
- Ability to type brief memos or e-mails at a level normally acquired through completion of one to three months course work in touch-typing.
- Interpersonal skills necessary to communicate by phone and to visitors to provide information and "customer service" with ordinary courtesy and tact.
- Work occasionally requires a high level of judgment, mental effort and/or strain when answering a high volume of phone calls and performing other essential duties.
- Ability to handle phone calls and visitors in a courteous manner, lift small delivery packages, operate phone equipment, and record messages.
