The Association for Fundraising Professionals (AFP) is looking for an IDEA Administrative Coordinator. This contract, part-time position (approximately 25 hours per week) is located in Arlington, VA. The incumbent is required to come to AFP headquarters located in Arlington, Virginia two days/week – Tuesday and Wednesday.
The Part-Time Administrative Coordinator is a contract role that supports and enhances AFP’s Inclusion, Diversity, Equity, and Accessibility (IDEA) initiatives. This role provides administrative support in the development and execution of IDEA-related programs, ensuring a positive, inclusive, community of fundraisers that fosters inclusion, diversity, equity, and accessibility (IDEA). The ideal candidate will be passionate about creating an equitable community of fundraisers and will work collaboratively with teams across the organization.
$40 per hour

MajorDuties&Responsibilities:
- Administrative Support: Provide administrative assistance for the IDEA team and IDEA related committees, including scheduling meetings, coordinating events, and managing volunteers and correspondence related to IDEA initiatives.
- Program Coordination: Work with volunteers and staff to assist in the planning and execution of IDEA-related programs, workshops, and training sessions that promote diversity, equity, and inclusion in the workplace.
- Data Management & Reporting: Track and maintain records related to IDEA initiatives, including attendance at training, feedback from events, and volunteer engagement. Prepare reports and summaries for management.
- Communication: Draft and send communications to volunteers regarding IDEA events, updates, and policies. Ensure all communications are aligned with the company’s inclusivity and accessibility standards.
- Resource Management: Help manage and update IDEA-related resources, including digital platforms, toolkits, and internal documentation to ensure they remain current and accessible.
- Collaboration: Work closely with leadership, volunteers, HR, and other teams to support the integration of IDEA principles into daily operations and business practices.
- Continuous Improvement: Stay up to date on best practices in diversity, equity, and inclusion, suggesting improvements to existing processes and supporting the team in the ongoing evaluation of IDEA initiatives.
- High School Diploma.
- 2-3 years of relevant experience, preferably with exposure to inclusion, diversity, equity, and access (IDEA) initiatives.
- Association experience preferred.

- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to craft clear, concise, and compelling content for various audiences.
- Ability to organize virtual and in-person events, handle registrations, track participation, and collect feedback.
- Proficiency navigating Outlook, Excel, Word, Power Point, Zoom, and Teams independently.
- Ability to actively listen and understand the needs of diverse groups, fostering inclusive dialogue.
- Ability to track the progress of IDEA initiatives and ensure they are on target with organizational goals and timelines.
- Familiarity with key IDEA-related policies, frameworks, and best practices for creating inclusive and accessible environments.
- Ability to work in partnership with leadership, volunteers, HR and other teams to ensure that IDEA initiatives are aligned with organizational goals.
- Comfortable in cross-functional teams, offering support for the integration of IDEA principles into broader workplace policies.
- Comfort in engaging with discussions on sensitive topics related to race, gender, disability, etc., in a professional and supportive manner.
- Ability to understand, appreciate, and work effectively with people from diverse cultural backgrounds, promoting inclusivity in every aspect of the role.
- Capable of managing confidential and sensitive information discreetly.
- Capable of working independently, yet also collaborating effectively with teams to accomplish common goals.
- Ability to adjust to evolving priorities, especially in a part-time, dynamic work environment where tasks may shift.
