About the role: Effective School Solutions is currently seeking a part-time Accounts Payable /Accounts Receivable Specialist to join our Finance team. This person will have a strong proficiency in QuickBooks / NetSuite and general accounting principles. The Specialist will have a working knowledge of Bill.com, and proficiency in Excel, Word, PowerPoint. This is a part-time hybrid position with 1-2 days a week required on-site.
Key Responsibilities:
- Invoice clients on a monthly basis as per contract terms.
- Prepare quotes/estimates as needed.
- Follow up on accounts receivable.
- Record and deposit checks received.
- Compare Purchase Orders received from clients to contract values.
- Review vendor invoices for accuracy, ensure proper coding of expense to the General Ledger. accounts, and question any unusual charges.
- Request W-9's from new vendors.
- Respond to vendor inquiries regarding payment status.
- Process employee expense reports and review for accuracy / policy exceptions.
- Invite staff to set up a bill.com account for expense reimbursements.
- Respond to staff inquiries regarding expense reimbursements.
- Follow up with staff on uncashed checks.
- Categorize credit card expenses.
- Support the monthly close process.
- Gather supporting data for annual financial audit.
- Build positive relationships with staff, clients, and vendors.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Bachelor's degree preferred.
- 2+ years of experience in similar role.
- Ability to function independently and as part of a team.
- Effective problem solving and communication skills.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Ability to organize and prioritize multiple tasks and assignments to meet deadlines.
- Proficiency in QuickBooks and NetSuite.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel and Word.
- Preferred knowledge of Bill.com.
