POSITION DESCRIPTION
Position Title: Activities Program: Safe Place Broward
Coordinator Reports to: Program Manager
POSITION FUNCTION/OVERVIEW:
The position is responsible for developing a program which engages clients in recreational, educational and cultural activities.
PRIMARY DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:
Promote the mission, values and vision of Hibiscus Children’s Center
Provide a month by month schedule of structured activities and communicate with administration and staff
Provide a wide range of indoor and outdoor recreation and leisure activities based on group and individual interests and needs
Responsible for communicating and budgeting weekend activities for assessment homes and reconciling all receipts
Responsible for involvement of residents in community activities and services, including cultural, recreational, and extracurricular activities to ensure that all children are a part of community activities. Serves a liaison with community representatives to promote the mission and vision of Hibiscus Children’s Center
Market the Activity Program to clients and staff to achieve the greatest level of participation
Arrange transportation scheduling for the Activity Program
Work closely with the Group Home Parents and Mental Health Tech Shift Supervisors to ensure evening and weekend events are fully covered, implemented and completed
Serve as a spokesperson for Hibiscus Children’s Center to create a optimum Activity Program by engaging a wide range of support from the community
Other duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED
Bachelor of Arts Degree in Human Services, Education, or related field preferred.
Two (2) years work experience with special needs children
Certification in CPR, First Aid
Proficient in behavior management, educational strategies, child development, and interventions
Meets requirements to operate agency vehicles, including valid Florida Driver’s License
Meets all staff requirements specified in Florida Administrative Code Chapter 65C-14 and all contractual obligations

Strong organization skills
