Parks Business & Technology Superintendent
The City of Wentzville is seeking a dynamic and experienced Parks Business & Technology Superintendent to lead and oversee the daily operations of our Administration Division. This pivotal role requires a skilled professional who can effectively manage complex administrative functions, supervise a dedicated team, and contribute to the overall success of our Parks and Recreation Department.
Key Responsibilities:
Strategic Leadership: Develop and implement strategic plans to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of the Administration Division.
Team Management: Recruit, hire, train, and supervise a team of administrative professionals to ensure optimal performance and productivity.
Operational Oversight: Oversee the division's day-to-day operations, including administrative support, customer service, marketing, and communications.
Financial Management: Manage the division's budget and ensure fiscal responsibility.
Community Engagement: Foster strong relationships with community members, stakeholders, and other city departments to promote the division's goals and objectives.
Project Management: Lead and manage various projects, including event planning, program development, and facility management.
Policy and Procedure Development: Develop and implement policies and procedures to ensure compliance with city regulations and industry best practices.

Qualifications
Job Qualifications – Education, experience, and training that are required or desirable in order to effectively perform the job at the time of hire. An equivalent combination of education, training, and experience will be considered. Additional requirements and/or substitutions may be requested and require the approval of HR.
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Public Financing, Public Administration, or related field required.
- Prior experience in the field may be considered in lieu of a degree.
- Minimum of six years of experience in accounting and providing administrative support including four years of progressively responsible supervisory experience required.
- Additional job-related advanced degrees or certifications may be considered in lieu of experience.
- Experience in a technology support role is preferred.
- CPR certification and training in First Aid are required.
- Certified Park and Recreation Professional (CPRP) certification is preferred.
- A valid driver’s license is required.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities – May be representative, but not all-inclusive, of those knowledge, skills, and abilities commonly associated with this position.
- Strong understanding of modern public financial management, including accounting, budgeting, auditing, and revenue collection.
- Proficiency in staff management, including supervision, training, and staff development.
- Knowledge of procurement practices and analytical procedures.
- Knowledge of research methods, including report writing techniques and statistical concepts and methods.
- Proficiency in use of basic business software (word processing, spreadsheets, email, presentations) and basic office equipment.
- Ability to provide exceptional service to internal and external customers
- Ability to manage and monitor division operations and services and implement procedural changes as needed to improve workflow and productivity.
- Ability to communicate effectively and professionally with supervisors, subordinates, co-workers, and customers by telephone, in writing and in person.
- Ability to develop goals and plans to prioritize, organize, and accomplish work for self and others, as well as concentrate on multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
- Ability to work independently and make responsible decisions.
- Ability to use good judgment and think rationally in difficult or stressful situations.
- Proficiency in the use of basic business software (word processing, spreadsheets, email, presentations) and basic office equipment.
- Regular attendance is a necessary and essential job duty. Job requires being reliable, responsible and dependable.
