Position Overview:
The Instructional Assistant plays a vital role in supporting preschool-aged students in a classroom setting. Under the guidance of a teacher, the Instructional Assistant will help facilitate instructional activities, classroom management, and various day-to-day tasks that foster a positive and engaging learning environment.
This is a hands-on, in-person role where you will have the opportunity to build meaningful connections with young learners while supporting their growth and development. This position is available through the end of the school year.
Key Responsibilities:
- Work with students individually or in small groups to support and reinforce learning activities.
- Assist in managing and shaping student behavior using positive reinforcement strategies.
- Provide auditory and visual monitoring of students in the classroom and during outdoor activities.
- Support day-to-day classroom activities, including games, playtime, meals, and biological needs.
- Perform clerical tasks such as filing, organizing, and duplicating materials as needed.
- Use technology to maintain student records, attendance, and files.
- Help maintain student discipline in the teacher's absence.
- Contribute to creating and maintaining a neat, organized, and welcoming learning environment.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous professional experience working with children (required).
- Passion for working with preschool-aged students in an inclusive, collaborative environment.
Position Details:
- Compensation: Competitive pay at $30 per hour.
- You will be traveling between different school sites
- Duration: This position is 3-4 days a week, available through the end of the school year.
- Hours: Up to 30 hours per week.
