About the Job
Our clients are seeking certified Special Education Paraprofessional that have experience providing support to children with behavioral and intellectual challenges within a therapeutic school setting
SUMMARY OF THIS OPPORTUNITY
SUMMARY OF THIS OPPORTUNITY
- Assist student in the general education classroom with note taking, testing, etc.
- Alerts regular teacher to any problem or special information about the individual student(s)
- Assist with student's participation in small groups of students as directed by the classroom teacher.
- Assist in checking and correction of papers and preparation of materials under the direction of the teacher.
- Assist students during activities including lunch and safely guiding on and off the bus.
- Monitor the instruction activities of the student and assist as appropriate or as directed by the classroom teacher.
REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
- Minimum of a High School Diploma or its equivalency
- Paraprofessional License or Substitute Teaching Certification
- Experience working with children with behavioral challenges, intellectual and developmental disabilities, and/or autism
