Job Summary
The Owensboro Health Paramedic-Event Medicine independently works off assessment skills to activate patient care protocols to deliver patient care within their full scope of practice as defined by the state of Kentucky and Owensboro Health's scope of practice. The ability to work independently is critical, since you may be the only EMS person at the event based on event size. Based on this need to work independently, we are able to consider only paramedics with 911 experience. Position Shift: Our events are typically on nights and/or weekends, but can vary. Events can last from three to 12 hours but the average event is five hours. Event Medicine employees are required to be available for a minimum of three events per quarter. Job Responsibilities

- Actively participates with other members of the healthcare team to provide direct patient care.
- Responsible for triage care in the pre-hospital environment.
- Responsible for effective communication to ensure safe and quality patient care within the on-site care team and during handover.
- Utilizes the problem solving model to independently resolve patient problems and follow through with the healthcare team to implement solutions.
- Responds to emergency requests within the assigned small and large events.
- Maintains clinical competency per regulatory and accreditation compliance.

- High school diploma, General Equivalency Diploma (GED) or higher required upon hire
- A combination of education, training and experience may be considered in lieu of degree.
- A minimum of 2 years' 911 paramedics experience required
- Paramedic - Licensed Paramedic in the state of Kentucky required upon hire AND
- BLS - Certified as a Basic Life Support Healthcare Provider required upon hire AND
- ACLS - Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support Healthcare Provider required upon hire AND
- Driver - Valid driver's license and 21 years of age required upon hire
- Requires critical thinking skills and decisive judgment.
