As a Permanent Paralegal in Trust & Estates, you will play an integral role in a dynamic legal team, providing top-tier legal services in the areas of trust and estate law. You will have the opportunity to work closely with a team of experienced attorneys and legal professionals, handling complex and high-value estates, trusts, and succession planning matters. This role requires a high level of professionalism, excellent communication skills, and the ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion.
Responsibilities:
- Assist attorneys in the preparation and execution of wills, trusts, estates, and related documents.
- Conduct comprehensive research on legal matters pertaining to trust and estate law.
- Coordinate with clients, attorneys, and financial advisors to gather information and documentation necessary for estate planning and trust administration.
- Review and interpret wills, trusts, powers of attorney, and other estate planning documents.
- Assist in the administration of trusts and estates, including the preparation of probate documents, estate tax returns, and accountings.
- Provide support in the area of succession planning, including the drafting of succession plans and related documents.
- Maintain client files and records in accordance with firm policies and procedures.
- Stay abreast of current laws and regulations related to trust and estate law and succession planning.
Qualifications:
- A minimum of 5 years of paralegal experience in trust and estates law, specifically with succession planning.
- Bachelor's degree in law, paralegal studies, or a related field. A paralegal certification is preferred.
- Thorough understanding of trust and estates law, including wills, trusts, probate, estate tax, and succession planning.
- Proficient in legal research and document drafting.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to interact effectively with clients, attorneys, and other legal professionals.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
- High level of discretion and confidentiality.
- Proficiency in legal software and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
