Job Details
We are seeking a dynamic, detail-oriented, and experienced Paralegal for our Estate Administration department. This is an excellent opportunity to join a prestigious NY based law firm that values professional growth, diversity, and commitment to excellence. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 3 years of experience in estate administration, transactional work, and trust and estates.
Responsibilities:
As a Paralegal in Estate Administration, your primary responsibilities will include:
1. Assisting attorneys with all aspects of estate administration, including the preparation of court documents, estate tax returns, accountings, and other related documents.
2. Coordinating with clients, financial institutions, and government agencies to gather necessary information and documentation.
3. Conducting legal research and drafting memos, correspondence, and other legal documents.
4. Managing and organizing large volumes of complex documents; reviewing and summarizing client documents.
5. Preparing and filing documents with various courts and governmental agencies.
6. Tracking and maintaining deadlines and ensuring timely filing of documents.
7. Supporting the team in transactional matters related to trusts and estates.
Qualifications:
The successful candidate will possess the following qualifications:
1. A minimum of 3 years of paralegal experience in estate administration, transactional work, and trust and estates.
2. Bachelor's degree or equivalent, Paralegal certification is preferred.
3. Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, legal research platforms, and estate planning software.
4. Exceptional organizational skills, high attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
5. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, and the ability to effectively communicate with clients, attorneys, and other professionals.
6. Strong research and analytical skills, with the ability to understand complex legal concepts and interpret legal documents.
7. Demonstrated commitment to maintaining confidentiality and exercising discretion.
8. Familiarity with NY estate law and court procedures is a plus.
