Job Details
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist attorneys with the preparation and drafting of estate planning documents, including wills, trusts, powers of attorney, and healthcare directives.
- Administer estates and trusts, including preparing inventories, asset valuations, and accountings.
- Prepare and file probate court documents and assist with probate proceedings.
- Conduct legal research related to estate and tax planning matters.
- Coordinate with clients, financial advisors, accountants, and other professionals to gather and organize necessary information.
- Maintain and organize client files and records.
- Ensure compliance with all legal and regulatory requirements.
- Assist with the preparation of gift and estate tax returns.
- Provide general administrative support to the private wealth team as needed.
Qualifications:
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Paralegal Studies, Legal Studies, or a related field.
- Paralegal certification from an ABA-approved program is preferred.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience working as a paralegal in estate planning, trust administration, or a related field.
- Strong understanding of estate and trust administration procedures and legal requirements.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficiency in legal research and legal document preparation.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and legal research databases.
- Familiarity with estate planning and trust administration software is a plus.
