Position Responsibilities
- Assembles and drafts contracts, motions, and other pleadings
- Prepares documentation and files contracts with various probate and surrogate courts
- Reviews and understands probate documents and flags concerns
- Work closely on cases with the portfolio management and underwriting team
- Assists with record retrieval and document management
- Organizes and maintains legal files
- Reviews court case files for updates
- Handles special projects as assigned
Qualifications
- Must have a bachelor’s degree; Paralegal certification preferred
- 3 years’ experience in general litigation or probate and estate work
- Ability to work autonomously and collaboratively
- Strong attention to detail
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Great work ethic
- Demonstrated history of working collaboratively with peers in a team-oriented environment
- Strong organizational skills to handle multiple projects and deadlines in fast-paced environment
- Proficiency with the Microsoft Office suite of products and mail merge function
- Must be able to work in the Rye Brook, NY office
