We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Class Actions Paralegal to join our dynamic legal team. This role requires a dedicated professional with exceptional organizational skills, strong attention to detail, and the ability to handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment. The successful candidate will assist in all aspects of class action litigation, from initiation through settlement or trial, and will play a critical role in managing and organizing large volumes of documents, coordinating with clients, and ensuring deadlines are met. This position requires a minimum of 5+ years of experience in a similar role.
Responsibilities:
1. Assist attorneys in all stages of class action litigation including pre-filing investigation, discovery, certification, settlement, and trial.
2. Draft legal documents such as pleadings, motions, briefs, discovery requests and responses, and settlement agreements.
3. Conduct legal research and factual investigation.
4. Organize and manage case files, including large volumes of documents and data.
5. Coordinate with clients, opposing counsel, court personnel, and experts.
6. Calendar and manage all case deadlines, ensuring compliance with court rules and orders.
7. Prepare materials for depositions, hearings, mediations, and trials.
8. Assist with trial preparation and in-courtroom trial support.
9. Maintain up-to-date knowledge of class action law and procedural rules.
Qualifications:
1. A minimum of 5+ years of experience as a paralegal, with substantial experience in class action litigation.
2. Paralegal certification or equivalent required.
3. Proficiency in legal research tools and databases.
4. Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail.
5. Strong written and verbal communication skills.
6. Proficiency in calendaring and managing complex litigation deadlines.
7. Ability to work effectively in a high-pressure environment, managing multiple tasks and meeting deadlines.
8. Experience in drafting a variety of legal documents.
9. Familiarity with court rules, procedures, and e-filing systems.
10. Proven ability to work independently and as part of a team.
11. Strong problem-solving skills and ability to think strategically.
12. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and legal case management software.
13. High degree of professional ethics and integrity.
14. Willingness to continue learning and improving legal skills.
