We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Permanent Paralegal (med/mal) to join our dynamic team in the Technology industry. The successful candidate will assist in handling medical malpractice cases and will work closely with our legal team in managing these complex cases. This is a unique opportunity for a professional with a background in Nursing (RN) and legal documentation, who is looking to advance their career in a fast-paced and innovative environment.
Responsibilities:
As a Permanent Paralegal (med/mal), your responsibilities will include but are not limited to:
1. Assisting attorneys in the preparation and filing of pleadings, motions, and briefs.
2. Conducting legal research and drafting legal documents, memoranda, and correspondence.
3. Reviewing, analyzing, and summarizing medical records related to medical malpractice cases.
4. Working closely with medical experts to prepare for depositions and trials.
5. Coordinating with clients, opposing counsel, court personnel, and other relevant parties.
6. Maintaining case files, calendars, and databases to ensure organized and efficient case management.
7. Assisting in the preparation of case strategies and trial preparations.
8. Ensuring compliance with all relevant laws, regulations, and court rules.
9. Providing additional administrative support to attorneys as needed.
Qualifications:
The ideal candidate for this position should possess the following qualifications:
1. A minimum of 5 years of experience as a Paralegal in medical malpractice or a related field. OR
2. A Registered Nurse (RN) credential or equivalent experience in a medical field.
3. Proficiency in drafting and reviewing legal documents.
4. Exceptional research and analytical skills with a strong attention to detail.
5. Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
6. Ability to work well under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
7. Proficiency in using legal research software and other computer applications such as Microsoft Office Suite.
8. Strong organizational and case management skills.
9. Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion.
10. A proactive approach to problem-solving and the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
