Purpose:
Responsible for supporting the legal department in transactions, governance, and compliance activity, and creating an effective presence for the legal function through professional and impactful presentations. This position reports to the Vice President, General counsel and is an integral part of the global legal team, with a solid understanding of the role of a corporate legal department, and commitment to ethics.
Accountabilities:
- Receive and process invoices from outside firms, using Company's software solution. Interface with law firms and other vendors for billing purposes as needed.
- From content provided by attorneys and legal staff, generate presentations and other communication materials.
- Complete intake and coordination of requests for legal advice.
- Conduct legal research as assigned by legal team.
- Format and maintain templates for contracts, board documents, and policies.
- Assist attorneys in contract review and litigation management.
Skills and Knowledge Required:
- Bachelor's Degree Preferred Experience in legal environment 3-5 y ears.
- Experience utilizing content from attorneys or subject matter experts to create impactful presentations.
- Experience working cross culturally to support a diverse team of professionals with communication and scheduling needs would be preferred.
- Excellent communication skills (written, verbal).
- Tech-savvy, with demonstrated advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office suite. Demonstrated ability to format business content into effective and professional presentations, including graphics such as flowcharts.
- Ability to assimilate and use software relevant to legal operations.
- Capability of maintaining confidentiality of sensitive information.
- Strong executive presence and professionalism.
- Ability and desire to work as a team both within the legal department and with other functions such as accounting, executive team, and corporate communications.
