Paralegal - Hybrid Remote - Latitude Inc

Responsibilities

• Case Management: Assist in managing case files from inception to resolution, including organizing and maintaining documents, tracking deadlines, and coordinating with clients and opposing counsel.
• Document Preparation: Draft and review legal documents such as pleadings, motions, subpoenas, discovery requests, and correspondence. Ensure all documents are accurate, properly formatted, and filed in a timely manner.
• Legal Research: Conduct legal research using various resources, including legal databases, case law, statutes, and regulations. Summarize findings and provide relevant information to attorneys.
• Client Communication: Communicate with clients to gather necessary information, provide updates on case status, and address any questions or concerns. Maintain a high level of client service and confidentiality.
• Court Filings: File legal documents with courts electronically and in person as required. Ensure compliance with court rules and procedures.
• Trial Preparation: Assist in preparing for trials, hearings, and depositions. Organize exhibits, prepare witness lists, and compile trial binders.
• Administrative Support: Provide general administrative support to attorneys, including scheduling appointments, managing calendars, and organizing meetings.
• Record Keeping: Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of case activities, billing, and client communications. Ensure all files are organized and easily accessible.
• Compliance: Ensure all activities comply with legal and ethical standards, including maintaining client confidentiality and adhering to professional conduct guidelines.
• Continuous Learning: Stay updated on changes in laws, regulations, and legal procedures. Attend training sessions and workshops as needed.

Requirements

• Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Paralegal Studies, Legal Studies, or a related field.
• Paralegal certificate from an accredited program is required.
• 4+ years of experience as a paralegal or legal assistant is preferred.
• Strong knowledge of legal terminology, procedures, and documentation.
• Excellent organizational and time management skills.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
• Proficiency with legal research tools and databases (e.g., Westlaw, LexisNexis).
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and legal practice management software.
• Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Familiarity with court rules and electronic filing systems.
