Requirements
- You will conduct initial review of subject matter details in a case file, determines the evidence needed, and proposes the best approach to gather the data to the assigned counsel.
- You will prepare correspondence, various reports, memos, motions, pleadings, and other documents, legal research, witness interviews and preparation, and other tasks as assigned.
- You will conduct legal research on a variety of administrative legal issues and will draft documents for review by the supervising attorney.
- You will provide a broad scope of administrative support to the CNRH Office of Counsel Region Counsel and staff attorneys.

- You must possess a paralegal certificate from an accredited institution in law, or certification in a related field or equivalent work experience.
- This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
- You will be required to complete training, obtain, and maintain a government credit card for travel and travel-related purchases.
- Must be a US Citizen.
- Must be determined suitable for federal employment.
- Must participate in the direct deposit pay program.

- Within the Department of Defense (DoD), the appointment of retired military members within 180 days immediately following retirement date to a civilian position is subject to the provisions of 5 United States Code 3326.

Qualifications
Your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-9 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following:
- Interpreting and applying laws, rules, regulations, and precedents to evaluate facts and evidence;
- Applying a variety of civil sources (i.e., federal and state statutes, court decisions, policies and procedures, and administrative regulations) to assist in litigation defense preparation;
- Conducting legal research, using a variety of sources, to develop appropriate queries sufficient to confirm thorough examination of legislative history, precedent cases, and agency opinions; and
- Presenting, in spoken or written form, relevant findings and conclusions using appropriate language, reasoning, and organization of facts and ideas.
