About the Job
We seek a skilled and detail-orientedEmployment Law Paralegal to join our dynamic San Jose, CA legal team. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of supporting attorneys in employment law matters, exceptional organizational skills, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist attorneys with all aspects of employment law cases, including wrongful termination, wage and hour disputes, discrimination, harassment, and compliance matters.
- Conduct comprehensive legal research and summarize findings related to employment statutes, case law, and regulations.
- Draft, review, and organize legal documents, including pleadings, discovery responses, settlement agreements, and demand letters.
- Coordinate and manage discovery processes, including document collection, review, and production.
- Support trial preparation, including organizing exhibits, preparing witness files, and assisting with courtroom logistics.
- Maintain and manage case files, ensuring compliance with court deadlines and procedures.
- Communicate effectively with clients, opposing counsel, and government agencies as needed.
- Monitor changes in employment law regulations and provide updates to the legal team.
Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree and/or paralegal certification from an ABA-approved program.
- Experience: Minimum of 5 years of paralegal experience, with a focus on employment law.
- Proficient in legal research tools (e.g., LexisNexis, Westlaw) and case management software.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
- Familiarity with federal, state, and local employment law practices in California.
