Paralegal Position Summary
The Paralegal position in the Shareholder Advisory group calls for someone who can take ownership and responsibility for the effective and efficient functioning of the Process Management team. This requires work both independently and as part of a team, and the ability to handle and appropriately prioritize multiple assignments simultaneously.
The role involves frequent communication with attorneys, accountants, tax professionals, other employees, and clients regarding indemnification claims, earnout/milestone reports, purchase price adjustments, and other legal documents. The position requires the ability to create structure and order in processes, pay close attention to detail, and document tasks, while remaining organized.
This position reports to Executive Director or Senior Director, Shareholder Advisory.
This position can be fully remote.
The salary range for this position is between $62,750k - $71,250k, depending on level of experience.
Paralegal Primary Responsibilities
- Create, manage, and close cases and dates within our online data platform
- Manage inbound and outbound correspondence via email and letter, including application of signatures and utilization of FedEx/UPS
- Route a large volume of internal and external email inquiries to appropriate person(s) or group
- Track dates on earnout/milestone reports and coordinate with deal parties to ensure reports are delivered on a timely basis
- Draft correspondence under attorney supervision
- Maintain and manage electronic and paper documents
- Manage client profiles and contact records
- Gather statistics for internal and external analysis purposes
- Identify areas of process improvement and help implement same
- Manage and help execute special projects as needed
- Other duties as assigned
Paralegal Required Qualifications & Skills
- Graduate of an accredited four-year college or university, equivalent experience or combination of education and experience considered
- At least 3 years of paralegal experience in a fast-paced professional environment
- Extremely meticulous, precise, and detail-oriented
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Ability to quickly shift between projects and manage stress of competing tasks and team demands
- Technologically literate and proficient with email, word processing programs, and online information platforms
- Ability to work in front of a computer screen for extended periods of time
- Team player who takes ownership of issues and follows through to resolution
- Experience with Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Word and Excel
Paralegal Desired Characteristics
- Graduate of an accredited and well-regarded four-year college or university
- Experience in a national law firm
- Mergers & Acquisitions, litigation, or in-house experience
- Experience with Legal Tracker
Paralegal Physical Requirements/Special Demands
- Must be available to work standard business hours, and possibly some evenings or weekends on an emergency basis
- Ability to work in-office for 1-2 hours per week as needed
- Access to a FedEx near residence if working remotely
- Ability to attend other in-person team events, generally quarterly
