Our client is a Premier General Contractor, offering an excellent opportunity for challenge and growth,
they are looking for a Paralegal or Contracts Specialist with Construction contracts experience.
CONSTRUCTION CONTRACTS PARALEGAL/Contract Specialist Selected duties:
- Reviews all incoming contracts, NDAs and purchase orders from customers for identifying, reducing, or eliminating risk. Review of documents for completeness and quality.
- Identifies when contracts have legal implications and partner with Managers, Directors or members of the Executive Team to secure appropriate changes.
- Routes contracts to the Account Managers, Directors and VPs for approval. Prepares and tracks execution of contracts.
- Compiles contract documents with required signatures and informative materials, such as, bonding, insurance and other contractual requirements
CONSTRUCTION CONTRACTS PARALEGAL/Constract Specialist EXPERIENCE, EDUCATION:
- 4-year degree preferred or 2-year degree with 3-5 years of experience in a similar role within the construction industry.
- An understanding of legal risks inherent within the construction industry and the contracting process. Ability to flag a contract for those risks.
- Experience with negotiating and resolving contractual risks and recommending mitigation practices
- Knowledge of contract terminology, practices, and concepts; familiarity with construction contracts would be an asset
- Excellent time management skills, attention to detail, and the ability to learn quickly
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to work well under pressure with a sense of urgency and thoroughness with a professional, positive, pro-active and energetic attitude
- Ability to assess and prioritize multiple tasks, projects, and demands
- High degree of computer literacy, including Microsoft Office proficiency
