Paralegal – Real Estate Practice (Miami Office)
A full-service law firm serving clients locally, nationally, and internationally is seeking a Real Estate Paralegal to join their Miami office.
Position Overview
This role involves working in a sophisticated commercial real estate practice with a team-based approach. The ideal candidate will have at least 5+ years of experience as a Real Estate Paralegal in a law firm and must possess strong title and survey skills, along with exceptional technical, oral, and written communication skills. Keen attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple projects under tight deadlines are critical for success.
Primary Responsibilities
Transactional Support:
- Prepare and review commercial and residential real estate purchase and sale closing documents.
- Assist in drafting and reviewing loan documents, including UCC Financing Statements.
- Coordinate closings, maintain closing checklists, prepare/distribute signature page packages, review settlement statements, and liaise with all transaction parties.
Title & Survey Review:
- Order and review title and survey documents, including exceptions.
- Draft title and survey objection letters and memoranda.
- Prepare escrow closing letters.
Due Diligence:
- Collect and review zoning compliance letters, UCC/judgment searches, entity authority documents, good standing certificates, and estoppel letters.
- Order and abstract UCC/judgment/lien search results.
- Obtain zoning reports and conduct related analyses.
Document Preparation:
- Draft consents, resolutions, and other basic corporate documents.
- Conduct lease reviews and prepare lease abstracts.
Closing & Post-Closing:
- Handle or coordinate the filing/recording of documents.
- Prepare comprehensive closing binders and handle post-closing matters.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree and 5+ years of related paralegal experience in a law firm, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Strong title and survey review skills.
- Exceptional oral and written communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously with high accuracy and attention to detail.
- Proficient analytical, evaluative, and problem-solving skills.
- Familiarity with legal terminology and the ability to verify the completeness of forms and documents.
