Our firm is seeking a seasoned Permanent Paralegal to join our dynamic legal team. The ideal candidate will be an experienced professional with a minimum of 5 years in the legal industry, who is passionate about the law and committed to providing exceptional support to our attorneys and clients. As a Permanent Paralegal, you will be an integral part of our legal team, working closely with attorneys to prepare for trial, conduct research, and maintain case files. Your responsibilities will include:
1. Drafting and editing legal documents, including pleadings, discovery requests, and responses.
2. Preparing demand packages and other legal correspondence.
3. Conducting legal research and gathering relevant information for case preparation.
4. Assisting with trial preparation, including the creation of exhibits, witness preparation, and coordination of logistics.
5. Managing case files, maintaining case calendars, and tracking deadlines.
6. Liaising with clients, court personnel, and other legal professionals, often serving as the first point of contact.
7. Providing Spanish language support, including translation and interpretation, as needed.
Job Details
The ideal candidate for the Permanent Paralegal position will possess the following qualifications:
1. A minimum of 5 years of experience as a paralegal in a law firm or corporate legal department.
2. Expert knowledge of demand packages and the ability to draft and review such documents accurately and efficiently.
3. Proficiency in Spanish is required. The ability to translate legal documents and facilitate communication with Spanish-speaking clients is essential.
4. Excellent research skills and a thorough understanding of legal principles and procedures.
5. Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple cases and projects simultaneously.
6. Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to convey complex legal information clearly and concisely.
7. A paralegal certificate from an ABA-approved program is preferred.
8. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and legal research platforms, such as Westlaw or LexisNexis.
