This global law firm is seeking a talented and experienced Business Litigation Paralegal to join our dynamic team in Dallas. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in business litigation support, possess excellent organizational and communication skills, and thrive in a fast-paced legal environment. This role offers the opportunity to work on complex litigation matters alongside skilled attorneys and make meaningful contributions to the success of our clients.
Responsibilities:
- Provide comprehensive paralegal support to attorneys in all phases of business litigation, including case management, document organization, and trial preparation.
- Conduct legal research and analysis on case-related matters, including statutes, regulations, and case law, to assist in case strategy development and motion practice.
- Assist with drafting and reviewing legal documents, pleadings, discovery requests, and correspondence, ensuring accuracy and adherence to court rules and deadlines.
- Coordinate and manage document discovery processes, including document collection, review, and production, utilizing electronic discovery platforms and databases.
- Prepare deposition and trial materials, including witness and exhibit lists, deposition summaries, and trial binders, and provide support during depositions, hearings, and trials as needed.
- Communicate effectively with clients, opposing counsel, court personnel, and internal team members, maintaining professional relationships and facilitating case progress.
- Assist with administrative tasks, such as scheduling meetings and hearings, managing calendars, and tracking billable hours, to support attorneys in maximizing efficiency and productivity.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree and/or paralegal certificate from an ABA-approved program.
- Minimum of 6 years of experience as a litigation paralegal, with a focus on business or commercial litigation preferred.
- Proficiency in legal research and writing, with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent organizational abilities and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities simultaneously.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact professionally with clients, attorneys, and staff.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and legal research databases (Westlaw, LexisNexis).
- Familiarity with electronic discovery tools and litigation support software (e.g., Relativity, Concordance).
- Knowledge of Texas court rules and procedures, including e-filing requirements, preferred.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team-oriented environment, demonstrating initiative and flexibility as needed.
