Catholic Charities is seeking a full-time Pantry Service Representative for our Nutritional Health department.

Catholic Charities of Buffalo, NY, is the most comprehensive human service provider serving the eight counties of Western New York with dozens of programs at 40+ professionally staffed locations. Our programs include comprehensive counseling services for all ages, basic emergency assistance including operating 8 food pantries, mental health services, chemical dependency treatment, educational and job readiness services, services to older adults, marriage counseling, immigration and refugee assistance and a variety of programs that address prevention and treatment of a number of family issues.

JOB SUMMARY: Responsible for providing temporary food assistance to individuals/families whose need has been determined through a referral, interview at the pantry or a phone request from within another agency.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Facilitates contact with persons in need, professionally assessing the need for service.
- Provides information on all public and social programs that are pertinent.
- Responsible for Intake Interviews and client assessments to determine need.
- Monitors volunteers to ensure that they adhere to guidelines.
- Maintains a working relationship with community resources to enhance services.
- Performs tasks needed for statistical, clerical purposes and other work assignments.
- Assists with the management of all aspects of the food pantry.
- Directly serves clients and provides referrals to other programs and/or agencies as necessary.
- Accepts and will sort food received from donations, FeedMore deliveries, food drives, grocery stores, and food shuttle, will stock shelves and makes up boxes/bags to distribute to clients.
- Attends meetings that pertain to pantry (i.e. FeedMore WNY and Catholic Charities) and maintains record keeping.
- Complies with the Agency's Compliance Program, Code of Ethics, laws, regulations, and ethical standards applicable to your job duties.
- Adheres to all applicable federal and state laws and regulations including, but not limited to those governing confidentiality, privacy, program, billing and documentation standards. All duties must be performed in accordance with CCB's corporate compliance and ethics program.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
Education: The successful candidate must possess an associate's degree in human services.
Specify Special Requirements: Must have a valid New York State driver's license with reliable transportation.
EXPERIENCE:
- 2 years' experience in related field.
- Must be flexible and possess excellent written, verbal and interpersonal communications skills and the ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships and work independently.
- Computer proficiency is required.
