About the Job
BHJ USA, LLC. is a leading supplier of fresh/frozen meat blends to both the wet and dry pet food industries. We are seeking a motivated individual to set up and operate palletizing machinery according to specifications and preprogrammed machine control instructions in the processing of raw materials for the pet food, pharmaceutical and feed industries by performing the following duties. Duties may vary by plant based on the types of machines that are operating.
Responsible for learning and understanding the functionality of the palletizing machinery
Sets pallets in place to feed machinery for proper placement of product
Enters commands to start robot, observes robotic operation, watch and follow correct sequences and monitors screen of machine controller for malfunctions and error messages.
Monitors the palletizing machine, wrapper with conveyors and correct machine settings as required using the preprogrammed instructions
Monitors surroundings of machine for any obstructions that may interfere with proper operation, proactively corrects obstructions to maintain efficient operation of palletizer (with checking sensors activity and proper location).
Monitors proper placement of product at all times by palletizing machinery and manually make program overrides to correct deviations
Inspects pallet of product to ensure proper quality in accordance with customer specifications and company policies. Take core samples as necessary. Wrap and weigh product.
Prepares (in a legible format) the proper production forms or reports noting accurate weights
Changes wrap film, removes waste from conveyors, checks pallet quality and loads pallet stacking station.
Controls weights and traceability of product, bags pallet with correct liners, supplies slip sheets and fills liquid containers with charcoal and red dye
Checks and controls label information
Operates traceability system
Creates and maintains operating procedures for proper functionality of system, including problem solving and necessary operating functions)
Notifies supervisor of numerical control programming problems
Performs proper housekeeping of equipment and surrounding area
Adhere to all safety guidelines and wearing of all required safety gear (PPE)
Adhere, support, and enforce all company policies and procedures
Maintains regular and prompt attendance during the working hours scheduled by the supervisor in accordance with our policies and guidelines.
High school diploma or GED preferred. Must also possess the following skills:
Ability to follow written and verbal instructions
Ability to learn and understand basic palletizing functionality
Ability to reason through problems involving operations
Excellent organizational, analytical, interpersonal and communication skills
Ability to complete all assigned tasks and shifts as assigned according to production requirements
Service oriented
Ability to work as a part of a team and treat coworkers with respect
Experience in the meat processing industry is desired but not required
Ability to obtain basic palletizing operations training (in house or certificate that equals or exceeds from outside).
Will be frequently exposed to cool and wet conditions. Must be able to lift up to 30 pounds on a frequent basis and be able to work around raw beef, chicken or other similar raw materials and odors.
