Specific Job Duties:
- Drive safety amongst team members and all others in the facility
- Manage the paint maintenance department and support other areas as needed
- Drive quality and quality improvements in assigned area and throughout the facility
- Continuously improve the maintenance program to meet the department KPIs
- Manage the department budget and forecast
- Develop and execute plans to reduce maintenance and energy costs
- Record, analyze, and report metrics and trends to all levels of the organization
- Identify problematic equipment and subassemblies, determine root causes and develop action plans for resolution
- Work side by side with technicians on maintenance tasks as needed
- Develop team skills and drive autonomy amongst team members
- Ensure critical and necessary spare parts are available and controlled
- Maintain and continuously improve the CMMS
- Drive continuous improvement activities relating to safety, quality, equipment availability, and cost reduction
- Develop and control a supplier base for department expendables. For subcontracted services, develop a supplier base that will react to the needs of the paint department to minimize downtime during critical and emergency situations based on using lead-time and delivery schedules
- Work hand in hand with the process teams that the department supports and others as needed, ensuring that every effort is made to achieve all KPI targets that drive the satisfaction of the customer and ultimately the success of the company
- Coordinate and supervise the activities of contractors performing work on-site
- Develop and improve current maintenance procedures while ensuring that they are compliant with all health, safety and environmental regulatory guidelines of local, state and federal agencies.
- Develop and maintain IATF standards as they relate to maintenance requirements and documentation
- Perform other duties as directed
Skills and Experience:
- Required –
- Minimum five years of experience in a highly automated and technical environment using conveyors, robotics, PLC’s, chillers, compressors, gas trains, and air handlers
- Multiyear leadership experience of a technical team
- Experience leading root cause analysis investigations and full understanding of problem-solving tools
- Demonstrated organizational, communication, and people skills
- Ability to drive positive and supportive relationships between teams and departments at all levels of the organization
- Above average PC skills including MS Office applications and analytical tools
- Preferred
- Highly automated automotive paint line maintenance and operations experience
- Ability to understand and troubleshoot Siemens Step 7 and TIA logic
- Exceptional electrical and mechanical experience and abilities
- Experience maintaining fire suppression systems including foam, CO2, and dry pipes
- Knowledge of local, state, and federal environmental regulations
- OSHA 10, 30, and other safety and environmental related certifications
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related field, or multiple years of related experience
