PACU RN at Access Care Staffing

Job Description:

13 week full-time PACU RN position in the DC Area at an Ambulatory Surgery Center. Cases include: Podiatry, Ortho (ACLS/Shoulder scopes), GYN, Eye, GI suite, pain pero endure room with steroid injections.

- Provide direct patient care in the Post-Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU)
- Monitor patients' vital signs, oxygen saturation levels, and pain levels
- Assess patients' condition and response to anesthesia and surgery
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by physicians
- Assist with patient recovery and ensure their comfort and safety
- Collaborate with the surgical team to develop and implement individualized care plans
- Educate patients and their families on post-operative care instructions
- Document patient information, procedures, and outcomes accurately

Requirements

- Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in PACU or critical care setting preferred
- Ability to lift and move patients safely
- Proficiency in IV insertion and management
- Familiarity with DME (Durable Medical Equipment) usage and maintenance
- Knowledge of assisted living facilities and their regulations is a plus
- Proficiency in using electronic medical record systems, such as Athenahealth, is preferred
- Experience working with children is highly desirable
