Introduction
The Fire Station Cannabis Co. (TFS) is one of the largest cannabis companies of the Upper Peninsula of Michigan, operating 8 marijuana retail establishments licensed by the State of Michigan’s Cannabis Regulatory Agency (CRA), in the cities of Marquette, Negaunee, Ishpeming, Houghton, Harris, Munising, Sault Ste Marie, Iron River, Menominee and Ironwood. TFS holds valid state and municipal operating licenses and strives to exceed compliance standards at the highest level. Beginning in 2019 with less than ten employees, our business is now growing rapidly and welcomes new employees who are interested in a career in the cannabis industry. TFS has a location in Negaunee, MI to operate a processing establishment licensed by the CRA. This establishment serves as a central distribution center for METRC and non-METRC inventory, where incoming products will be processed, packaged, labeled and sent to all TFS Retail locations via Secure Transport. This establishment will have the operational hours of Monday – Friday from 9 am to 5 pm.
Roles
The Packer is responsible for accurately weighing, packing, and labeling cannabis flower, infused edibles, and cannabis extracts for shipment to retail locations. Under the direction of the Lead Packer, the packer assembles and packages cannabis products while maintaining the highest standards of cleanliness, quality, and sanitation. This role is responsible for product tracking and ensuring products are packed and accounted for in accordance with company policy and State regulations.
Responsibilities
- Packages concentrates and flower products without degrading or sacrificing quality; determines exact weight and prepares product for packaging.
- Prepares and adheres labels to each package; verifies that labels for finished packages conform to State regulations.
- Tracks product and maintains documentation standards, ensuring products are accounted for throughout the packaging process.
- Works successfully in a team setting, takes instructions well and helps on tasks as delegated by Lead or Manager.
- Manages time efficiently in order to meet productivity goals while consistently producing quality work.
- Maintains the highest levels of cleanliness and sanitation inside the processing area and participates in the clean-up of equipment and work place before, during and at the end of every work day.
- Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
- Meet daily production quotas for producing and packing items including pre-rolls, concentrates, and prepacked flower
- Responsible for controlling loss by detailed and accurate measurement of materials used in production of processed items
- Inspects weighing and measuring tools to ensure accuracy of packaged products
- Follow detailed standard operating procedures to roll neatly and carefully, fill, weigh, package, and label various cannabis products into finished products ready for sale per company and state policies and procedures.
- Work on a team and safely operate fast moving and tightly calibrated packaging line, which includes strong attention to detail and quality control
- Continuously monitor the quality of all items associated with filling, packaging, and labeling
- Occasionally asked to assist in training new TFS staff on policies, procedures, and job shadowing.
- Ensures all marijuana waste is properly identified, destroyed and reported in METRC in accordance with CRA marijuana waste requirements and TFS waste protocol
- Complete and sign required checklists for end of shift duties, including sanitation and Establishment upkeep

Education & Experience
- High School Education or GED required
- 1+ years working in production environment required
- Must have adequate cannabis product knowledge
Work Environment
- State & Municipal Law - TFS operates in full compliance with all rules and regulations enforced by the State of Michigan’s Department of Licensing and Regulatory Affairs (LARA) and Cannabis Regulatory Agency (CRA). Further, TFS operates in full compliance with the rules and regulations of each municipality they are located within. To operate in compliance with such rules and regulations, employees are required to follow all policies created and enforced by and within TFS establishments.
- Must be able to lift up to 20 pounds at a time
- Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer

- Standing or sitting in one place for 3 hours at a time
- Job duties are performed in restricted access inventory rooms
- Must maintain personal hygiene and sanitation practices, including wearing hair nets, beard nets and gloves when handling flower
Job Requirements
- Must be at least 21 years of age
- Must have NO felony convictions
- Satisfactory Background Checks and reference checks
- Valid government issued photo identification
- Per R420.602 Rule 2, applicant who is a registered caregiver in the State of Michigan must withdraw their caregiver rights upon hire
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: Starting at $15.00 per hour
