We are searching for a motivated & experienced Packaging Specialist
Packaging Specialist is responsible for execution & implementation of packaging projects that are a part of the company’s product development process. Their role involves collaboration with several teams to ensure our company packaging projects are completed in a clear, precise and timely manner, and that they adhere to all regulations and corporate brand guidelines. This position will also review and improve existing packaging designs. Their role involves developing, managing and executing standards and guidelines for packaging solutions for the organization’s products.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned as a normal practice.
- Manage packaging development process while collaborating with Product & Project Management Teams.
- Create accurate packaging specifications & dyelines for new products.
- Work closely with Engineering, Marketing, Operations, Purchasing, Quality, R&D team members to ensure that the packaging designs are optimized for production.
- Work with Engineering group to understand the equipment capabilities for various packaging formats.
- Prepare documentation to begin package development and track progress to ensure deadlines are met.
- Maintain regular contact with suppliers, vendors, and printers to initiate and follow-up on all packaging project-related matters.
- Organize, route and facilitate approvals on all proofs throughout the design process.
- Compile and release artwork files to vendors.
- Monitors projects for compliance with current packaging regulations along with the QA team’s support.
- Maintain a database of all packaging materials, die-lines and artwork proofs.
- Work with extended teams to coordinate communication and manage timelines on packaging swap outs/changes.
- Must manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Be recognized as ‘the go-to-person’ for the most packaging related queries.
- Informs supervision of any problems or complications that may arise.
- Participates in special projects and performs other duties as required.
In addition to the essential duties and responsibilities listed above, all positions are also responsible for:
- Meeting company standards pertaining to quantity and quality of work performed on an ongoing basis, performing all work-related tasks in a manner that is in compliance with all company policies and procedures.
- Leadership and problem solving acumen.
- Adhering to Company policies, procedures, and directives regarding standards of workplace behavior in completing job duties and assignments.
- Must follow all Company Safety policies, as well as all GMP regulations and all lock-out/tag-out requirements according to OSHA requirements.
Requirements/Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in Packaging (or related field) with a minimum of 2 years of experience in similar position and industry.
- Technical Print Knowledge
- Knowledge of packaging components, graphics, vendor processes, manufacturing processes.
- Experience in press proofing
- Experienced leading packaging projects through conception to completion
SPECIALIZED KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:
- Knowledge and understanding of packaging design validation standards (ISO, ASTM, etc.), drafting and specification standards is essential.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and within interdepartmental teams in a high paced environment.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Suite, Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator, Adobe Acrobat.
