Job Title: Packaging Engineer
Location: Hybrid in Greenwood Village
Pay: $45-$60/hour DOE
Long term contract with possibility of extension or conversion
About the Role: We are seeking a talented Packaging Engineer. This role will involve close collaboration with mechanical engineers and industrial designers to enhance packaging solutions for telecommunications products. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in packaging, mechanical or manufacturing engineering and a passion for improving packaging efficiency and customer experience.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage and optimize design artifacts for packaging projects.
- Collaborate with mechanical engineers and industrial designers to develop innovative packaging solutions.
- Focus on manufacturing, environmental impact, shipment efficiency, and customer experience.
- Implement automation efficiencies, particularly for box folding and multi-equipment packaging.
- Ensure packaging meets ISTA and FedEx testing standards.
- Develop retail-style packaging that includes protective air pillows.
- Oversee operational assembly processes to enhance the unboxing experience.
- Work towards sustainable packaging solutions that can be easily recycled.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, manufacturing engineering, packaging engineering or a related field.
- Experience in packaging design and development.
- Proficiency in managing design artifacts and documentation.
- Strong understanding of manufacturing processes and environmental considerations.
- Familiarity with automation technologies and their application in packaging.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
- Strong organizational and project management skills.
Timeline:
- Target start date: Early 2025 (pending funding approval).
