About the Job
Job Summary: The primary responsibility of a Packaging Engineer is to develop and design functional, innovative, and aesthetically pleasing products, including medical devices and consumer goods such as home appliances and cars. The role involves blending artistic skills with research on product usability, marketing, materials, and design trends to ensure optimal product development.
Job Responsibilities:
- Create sketches, detailed drawings, illustrations, and blueprints using traditional drafting tools or CAD software.
- Refine and adjust designs based on working models, customer specifications, production constraints, or evolving design trends.
- Collaborate with engineering, marketing, sales, and production teams to develop and assess design concepts.
- Study industry trends, attend events, and research competing products to generate innovative design ideas.
- Design graphic elements for product illustrations, advertising, and packaging materials.
- Review design plans and ensure compliance with regulatory standards and verification protocols.
Must Haves:
- Medical device experience is a must, along with packaging design and development expertise.
- Proficiency in SolidWorks, Minitab, and Adobe software (Illustrator, Photoshop).
- Familiarity with IQ, OQ, PQ processes.
- A bachelor's degree in industrial design, architecture, or engineering; a master's degree is preferred.
- 5-7 years of relevant experience.
