Your role as an Ops Coordinator is crucial to the success of our organization. Ops Coordinators are the backbone of our operations as they will be at the frontline fielding all operational issues and escalating them to the right departments. Ops Coordinators will build a work environment that facilitates all of our drivers to feel welcome and help them thrive at their job. Ops Coordinators will transmit policies, monitor safety alerts, escalate driver complaints and driver performance issues to the appropriate departments and ensure the operations are run smoothly without interruptions. Job Duties:
Ops Coordinators must be able to perform all of the essential functions listed below, with or without a reasonable accommodation.
Vehicles and Driving
- Have an active California driver’s license and be approved on the company’s insurance.
Be a safe driver and maintain a clean driving record throughout the term of your employment. - Meet minimum vision standards as required by the Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV) for safe driving. If your driver’s license denotes that you must wear corrective lenses, you must wear them whenever driving for Tower EV.
- Follow defensive driving techniques and adhere to traffic laws to minimize the risk of incidents.
- Ensure the vehicles are clean, and replenished with supplies and tools for every shift.
- Submit inspections of the vehicles for cleanliness and damages, both inside and outside.
- Manage the vehicle keys.
Communications and Leadership
- Proficiency in English, including reading, writing, speaking, and listening.
- Ability to read and understand maps, the Uber app, Tesla interface, and road signs.
- Maintain a positive attitude and help drivers get into a calm state of mind before they begin driving at the beginning of each shift.
- Demonstrate strong problem-solving abilities to address unexpected challenges or issues that may arise during shift duties.
- Remain calm and composed under pressure and take proactive measures to resolve issues effectively.
Operations
- Ensure the dispatch is conducted efficiently per the standards of our operations.
- Ensure driver phones are fully charged for their shift and troubleshoot any phone/app issues as they arise.
- Update software on company phones, laptops and desktops.
- Monitor zoning for drivers and position them according to zone maps provided by the managers.
- Monitor safety alerts and escalate to the safety department.
- Send performance and safety alerts to drivers during their shift.
- Monitor performance on Uber dashboard and escalate low scorers to the supervisors and ops managers.
- Submit break compliance reports for each shift. Send reminders to drivers to take breaks and head back to the garage on time.
- Answer phone calls when supervisors are not available. Call drivers when required.
- Manage parking and traffic in the garage/parking lot.
- Ensure vehicles are being charged before shifts begin.
- Help Supervisors run errands and perform duties as instructed.
- Note attendance points every shift and report to supervisors/managers.
- Monitor Fleetio to confirm drivers are submitting their inspection reports.
- Assist with responsibilities of setting up the newly arrived vehicles.
- Abide by all company policies.
- Exercise caution and vigilance to avoid accidents and damages to company property.
- Maintain a clean and active driving status.
- Be willing to undergo random drug testing as required by the California Public Utilities Commission (CPUC) regulations.
- Maintain compliance with all drug testing policies and procedures to uphold safety standards.
- Adhere to Company policy prohibiting the use, possession and/or consumption of alcohol and drugs while working and while in possession of Company vehicle.
- Must be able to pass a drug and alcohol test since Tower EV falls under the jurisdiction of Federal DOT guidelines.
General Skills and Qualifications
- Be able to handle the mental stresses involved in interacting with various personalities and attitudes on a daily basis.
- Be open to feedback and coaching from supervisors and management to improve performance and service quality. Demonstrate a willingness to learn and adapt to changes in company policies and procedures.
- Maintain a clean workspace.
- Be able to frequently move to interact with fellow employees and/or clients. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close and distance vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
- Deal with stress associated with a fast-paced work environment and multiple priorities/tasks.
- Make judgment decisions and adapt to changing situations, grasp and apply new ideas, communicate with various personalities at all levels and have the ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed instructions.
- Maintaining an inventory list on a weekly basis.
Technology
- Possess the ability to operate the Uber driver app, Tesla interface, and navigation systems proficiently.
- Possess the ability to use Mac and windows OS, be familiar with google drive, docs and spreadsheets or other equivalent softwares.
- Stay updated on technological advancements and utilize relevant tools and resources effectively.
- Be able to quickly learn new apps/softwares/dashboards adopted and used in the company.
- Abide by the company's cyber security policies.
